<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Africa's insurance markets are poised for sustainable growth, according to a new report. Africa, long considered thes sleeping giant of emerging markets compared wih Asia and Latin America, is beginning to stir. That's the undelying theme of a market report, Africa Reinsurance Pulse, out this month. Based on interviews wih executives at 22 regional and international reinsurance companies and intermediaries, the survey found that executives are bullish about the short term prospects for the African reinsurance markets, with its strong economic fundamentals remaining in place despite the recent slowdown caused by a fall in demand for commodities and natural resources.
