Sumario: The latest report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) presents a large volume of new evidence that the climate system of the Earth is changing owing to increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs), especially carbon dioxide (CO2), resulting from emissions from human activities, mainly the burning of fossil fuels and land use change. Global mean surface temperatures are increasing; precipitation volumes and spatial and temporal distribution patterns are changing; the oceans are warming and the sea level is rising; features of extreme weather and climate events are changing
