<abstract displayLabel="Summary">En este breve análisis de la información censal disponible en el CELADE-División de Población de la CEPAL correspondiente a las rondas de 2000 y 2010, se pretende dar a conocer antecedentes seleccionados acerca de la población migrante en los países de América Latina. Se han realizado procesamientos especiales de los microdatos censales, cuyas tabulaciones constituyen parte de esta edición del Observatorio Demográfico, junto con otros antecedentes usualmente empleados en el proyecto IMILA.
La información que aquí se presenta permite tener un panorama de la migración internacional y elaborar mensajes claros acerca de su importancia para la implementación de la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible, incluidos los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), así como para el logro de las medidas prioritarias del Consenso de Montevideo sobre Población y Desarrollo, de 2013, y para el proceso referente al Pacto Mundial para la Migración Segura, Ordenada y Regular, que configuran el contexto para la formulación y ejecución de acuerdos, normativas y políticas migratorias</abstract>
