The management of today's complex, global supply chains is a daunting task. It is this complexity, and the need for much greater transparency, that is creating such interest in the application of blockchain to supply chains. It offers an opportunity to tackle some of the perennial issues that compromise supply chain effectiveness, such as the lack of traceability. To gain a deeper understanding of blockchain maturity in the supply chain domain, and to identify use cases for different sectors, we surveyed nearly 450 organizations. These organizations from across the manufacturing, consumer products, and retail industries have blockchain implementations underway at the proof-of-concept, pilot, or at-scale stage.
