<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Recientemente, la Sala Primera de lo Civil del Tribunal Supremo, en la Sentencia núm. 421/2020, de 14 de julio, se ha pronunciado sobre las cláusulas sorprendentes aquellas cláusulas ya predispuestas en el contrato que restringen de manera sorprendente la cobertura del asegurado, y que se hallan dentro de las delimitadoras de cobertura de riesgo considerándolas como cláusulas limitativas de derechos del asegurado-. En este sentido, al entender que dichas cláusulas sorprendentes pueden llegar a ser consideradas limitativas, habrían de estar redactadas en el contrato cumpliendo los requisitos del artículo 3 de la Ley del Contrato de Seguros.</abstract>
