<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Hace unos 8 años, el sector de renting de vehículos estaba perdiendo su papel de tracción en el mercado de venta de automóviles en España y afrontaba un futuro cercano sombrío. La flota total de las empresas del sector se contrajo, en 2013, casi un 8% (unas 37.000 unidades), según el entonces presidente de la Asociación Española de Renting de Vehículos (AER), Agustín García. En 2020, la pandemia de la Covid-19 también ha afectado a las empresas del alquiler de larga duración. Sin embargo, el momento de transición al que se enfrenta, en general, el mundo de la movilidad permite a las empresas de renting avanzar hacia la descarbonización de sus flotas y presentarse ante el mercado como una opción oportuna, responsable y adaptada a los nuevos tiempos. </abstract>
