<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Sustainability or ESG (environmental, social, governance) risks have become the center of social and political debates. The banking supervisors are reacting and expect banks to take concrete measures to integrate ESG risks into their existing risk management framework. The KPMG International market survey shows that almost all major banks have started this process. However, only 72 percent and 27 percent medium-sized and small banks, respectively, have begun. </abstract>
