The time frame of interest to the study finds that Venezuela has and continues to experience an extremely volatile rate of inflation. In such an environment, it is imperative that the discount rate be set as a function of the inflation rate plus a premium. This study is focused on the challenges of adopting such a policy given the absence of a well-developed capital market</subfield>
