This essay introduces the concept of longevity capitalism, a financial and biopolitical regime in which extended life expectancy becomes a new frontier of capital accumulation. It analyzes how ageing populations are increasingly subjected to individualized risk management as welfare systems recede, while investors and biotech industries treat longevity as a speculative asset. The article explores the rise of age-tech, longevity finance, and Silicon Valley's techno-utopian projects seeking to overcome ageing. It highlights how uncertainty about life and death is transformed into value creation, reinforcing inequalities in access to extended life. Ultimately, the essay argues that longevity now operates as a financialized, speculative horizon shaping both economic systems and biological futures
