520  ‎$a‎A longitudinal study examining the relationship between osteoarthritis, depressive symptoms, and the evolution of cognitive performance in older adults over a seven-year follow-up period. Using data from the Progetto Veneto Anziani study, cognitive trajectories were identified through the Mini-Mental State Examination. The results show that osteoarthritis is significantly associated with a higher risk of moderate cognitive decline. Depression acts as a partial mediator of this relationship, explaining approximately 30% of the total effect. The study highlights the importance of addressing mental health in the clinical management of osteoarthritis in the ageing population
