<abstract displayLabel="Summary">El costo de los accidentes de trabajo, producidos por una inexistente e ineficaz seguridad, conlleva a unos costos ocultos en la empresa, de difícil valoración, y que conviene cuantificar por la cuenta que le tanto a la empresa como al Estado. Hasta la actualidad, el empresario español disponía del seguro oficial y éste era quien debía responder con los gastos e indemnizaciones. Hoy en día la actitud del empresario está cambiando, ya que está siendo aleccionado sobre los costos reales como son: médicos, medicinas, hospitalización, indemnizaciones, etc., denominados éstos como costos directos, y de los costos indirectos, quizá más importantes y que caen directamente sobre sus espaldas</abstract>
