<abstract displayLabel="Summary">En este artículo se pretende sensibilizar, tanto a usuarios como a constructores, de los riesgos que existen en la utilización de las carretillas automotoras de manutención, informando sobre los diferentes medios de prevención existentes, disposiciones legales de seguridad, textos normativos y consejos al usuario. Además, se incluyen datos estadísticos sobre los accidentes de trabajo con baja, debidos a las carretillas, ocurridos en Francia desde 1967 hasta 1980, aportando los resultados de una encuesta realizada a una muestra de accidentados, a fin de determinar las causas de los accidentes y planificar una serie de medidas preventivas</abstract>
