<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Se exponen los medios de prevención que se deben adoptar en la utilización, destrucción y sustitución de policlorobifenilos, a fin de evitar los repercusiones negativas que estos pudieran producir en el hombre y en el medio ambiente. Este artículo informa de los siguientes aspactos: características del PCB, utilización y sus riesgos, riesgos toxicológicos, reglamentación y medidas en las instalaciones que contienen PCB, medidas a adoptar en caso de accidente, gestión de los desechos de PCB, vigilancia médica, sustitución de los aparatos que contienen PCB</abstract>
