<abstract displayLabel="Summary">En 1976, Hjorth et Roed-Petersen ont décrit une nouvelle forme d'allergie de contact, différente de la dermatite de contact d'allergie classique, de l'urticaire de contact, ainsi que de la dermatite d'irritation. Ils l'ont appelée "la dermatite de contact aux protéines" et l'ont considerée comme étant une forme d'allergie de contact, avec des caractéristiques immunologiques aussi bien du type I que de type IV (suivant la classification de Gell et Coombs). Ce sont surtout les personnes ayant un terrain atopique ou une peau préalablement abîmée, facilitant la pénétration de susbtances macromoléculaires, que la développeront</abstract>
