<abstract displayLabel="Summary">L'auteur présente l'activité des ateliers de granit et décrit les différents matériels qu'ils mettent en oeuvre. L'analyse des statistiques des accidents du travail montre que les principaux risques sont dus à la manutention d'objets lourds, aux chutes de plain-pied, aux particules en mouvement, etc. Il existe également des risques de maladies professionelles dues au bruit, aux vibrations et à l'inhalation des poussières de silice libre. Pour prévenir ces risques, différentes mesures de prévention sont proposées; elles concernent la manutention des blocs avant le sciage et des plaques sciées, l'utilisation de l'électricité en milieu humide, les machines, le bruit dû principalement aux scies, les vibrations des outils pneumatiques et la ventilation</abstract>
