The Fate of Pool Re / Kevin Pratt

Sumario: Pool Re is the mutual insurance organisation established by the Government to accommodate claims folowing terrorist outrages. Pool Re started life at the beginning of 1993 after insurance companies had collectively agreed that there was insuffient capacity in the market to provide terrorism cover and accordingly wrote a terrorism exclusion clause into their commercial insurance policies. The Government, alarmed at the prospect of businesses being uninsured against the threat of IRA bombs, agreed to become "reinsurer of last resort"
