Sumario: Methods are presented that were used for assessing exposures in a cohort mortality study of 15.000 employees at an Air Force Base from 1939 to 1982. Usually three ateps are necessary in assessing exposure for occupational studies: creation of a job dictionary, evaluation of historical exposures, and development and application of a method of assessment of exposure
