<abstract displayLabel="Summary">This article contains information sur the epidemiological publications regarding the carcinogenic potential of asphalt, and suggest, in view of the risk of cancer in man from exposure to asphalt, an appropiate public health attitude at least that action be taken to protect those working with asphalt by monitoring the workplace, taking whatever steps are possible to minimise exposures and to inform workers of potential hazards</abstract>
