Sumario: In a survey of 370 aluminium workers in western Norway, bronchial responsiveness, lung function, and respiratory symptoms were studied in relation to occupational exposure to air contaminants in the potroom. The objective of the present cross sectional study was to examine if the association betwen work related asthmatic symptoms and exposure to fluoride was reproducible in the total workforce in one plant and if any association existed betwen exposure to fluoride and methacholine responsiveness and lung function
