Sumario: In the current investigation it studied the prevalence of respiratory symptoms and abnormalities of ventilatory function in a group of swine confinemnet workers employed on swine farms near Zagreb, Yugoslavia. The data indicate that exposure in these places is associated with the development of acute and chronic respiratory symptoms and impairment of lung function. Smoking appears to aggravate these changes
