<abstract displayLabel="Summary">A review has been carried out to ascertain those factors which may affect the accurate determination of airborne polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in work environmental in order to establish appropiate sampling methodology. The wide variations in both the range of compounds considered in experiments and in the environmental conditions existing when samples were taken contribute to the apparently contradictory statements that have been made in the literature</abstract>
