<subfield code="a">Workers involved in the cleaning of boilers burning furnace fuel oil were monitored for exposure to banadium. Urine samples, collected during the cleaning task, were analysed. In all cases, urinary vanadium levels rose significantly throughout the period of boiler cleaning and showed good correlation with airborne vanadium levels to which the workers were exposed</subfield>
