Sumario: Most metal cutting processes are noisy. Excessive noise associated with this type of operation can be controlled by engineering four ways- at the source, along the path of transmission, at the receiver, or a combination of all three. Successful noise control programs have been instituted in many plants where operations range from automatic screw cutting to sawing huge structural beams. A few such program will be dicussed
