Integrated displays and the perception of graphical data / Barry P. Goettl, Christopher D. Wickens and Arthur F. Kramer
Sumario: This paper examines a number of aspects of the principle of compatibility of proximity in the domain of graphical perception of data. Experiment 1 tests the hypothesis that integral displays will be superior to separable displays when information must be integrated. Experiment 2 tests the hypothesis that when attention must be focused, a separable display will be better than a integral display. Experiment 3 investigates how displays are tied to the operator's internal representation of tasks
