<abstract displayLabel="Summary">The description and proposals in this paper are based mainly on two projects concerning control room design for traffic systems. Large parts of these projects concerned the design of technical parts of the systems to be installed. The topics in which we, the applied ergonomists, were involved concerned the way in which the system was organized and controlled. The conclusions will also apply to other kinds of multi-disciplinary projects</abstract>
