Sumario: This study examined the changes in body posture induced by the two pack types. The positions of the knees, hips, shoulders and ears were recorded photographically; the whole-body centre of gravity and the partial centres of gravity above the knee and hip were calculated. Subjects were also asked which pack type prefer. Three hypotheses were tested: (a) men and women will differ in their preferences of pack type, (b) corresponding differences in postural changes between men and women will be found and (c) subjects will adjust their postures to minimize changes in torque
