Sumario: In recent years, managers have become increasingly aware of how their organizations can be buffeted by risks beyond their control. In many cases, fluctuations in economic and financial variables such as exchange rates, interest rates, and commodity prices have had destabilizing effects on corporate strategies and performance. In this article is to present a framework to guide top-level managers in developing a coherent risk-management strategy - in particular, to make sensible use of the risk-management fire-power available to them through financial derivatives
