<abstract displayLabel="Summary">L'enquête réalisée dans douze ateliers de fabrication de bijoux précieux et fantaisie a permis de montrer qu'au plan de l'hygiène du travail, les entreprises industrielles et artisanales présentent les mêmes situations à risque. Il n'a pas été mis en évidence de niveau de risque moyen: ou les concentrations mesurées sont extrêmement faibles par rapport aux valeurs limites d'exposition ou bien elles les dépassent considérablement et, ce, de manière très ponctuelle. Parmi les métaux, les risques liés au cadmium, au plomb et surtout au bérylium retiennent l'attention. L'usage de l'amiante semble disparaître de cette activité. En revanche, l'emploi de produits de polissage ou de revêtement contenant de fortes concentrations en silice critalline dont la présence n'est pas mentionnnée à l'usager, est quasiment constant. Les fiches de données de sécurité ainsi qu'un étiquetage informatif sont indispensables dans ces ateliers, surtout pour les produits contenant de la silice cristalline. Cette dernière mesure pourrait entrer dans le cadre d'une réglementation à venir concernant la prévention du risque silicotique</abstract>
