<abstract displayLabel="Summary">L'évolution juridique et technique des produits commercialisés en France, l'intégration des marchés européens, besoins de l'économie en matière d'investissements et de retraites, l'évolution dramatique de la concurrence dans certains pays, ont provoqué une réfléxion d'ensemble sur les objectifs de l'assurance-vie et notamment sur le rôle de l'épargne collectée puis redistribuée par ce canal, avec pour conclusion une nouvelle réforme d'une réglementation qui date encore par certains aspects de 1938, 1930 ou même 1905, malgré les retouches qui lui ont été régulièrement apportées depuis 25 ans pour faciliter la modernisation des contrats. Plusieurs textes importants ont vu le jour en 1992 et 1993, précédant la transposition en droit national de la troisième directive européenne du 10 novembre 1992 sur l'assurance-vie et sans doute d'autres ajustements et perfectionnements</abstract>
