Estimation of pesticide exposure to greenhouse applicators using video imaging and other assessment techniques / Bruce A. Archibald, Keith R. Solomon, Gerald R. Stephenson
Sumario: Pesticide exposure in greenhouse applicators was measured using the video imaging technique to assess exposure (VITAE) along with dermal patches, air monitoring, and biological assessment techniques. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the ability of the VITAE system to estimate the level of full-body dermal exposure to a nonvolatile pesticide with low water solubility and to compare VITAE estimates with patch and biological monitoring techniques. The VITAE system also was used to assess applicators'pesticide exposure in a greenhouse environment and evaluate the differences between high- and low-volume pesticide application techniques. The final objective was to evaluate the effectiveness of various application methods for reducing exposure
