<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Las alianzas tecnológicas internacionales constituyen una forma de organización, semejante a las joint-ventures, en las que uno o más innovadores realizan un acuerdo de cooperación con otras empresas, para la explotación conjunta de la tecnología y otros activos intangibles, en una serie de países. En este artículo se analizan el papel de las alianzas estratégicas en el sector de las telecomunicaciones, tanto desde el punto de vista de los costes de transacción, como de su aplicación a la inversión internacional, para conocer si estos acuerdos son eficientes desde el punto de vista económico o, por el contrario, limitan la competencia entre las empresas que, con anterioridad, operaban en un mercado regulado. Las alianzas permiten, en determinados supuestos, reducir costes de funcionamiento, mientras conservan las ventajas económicas derivadas de su mayor flexibilidad organizativa</abstract>
