Sumario: There is only one previously published study which assesses the role of environmental factors in causing the elderly to fall outside their homes. Many patients of all ages attend A&E Departements with injuries sustained through potentially avoidable factors, uneven surfaces and inadequate street lighting in causing falls, and to survey the injuries sustained
