Sumario: A series of experiments are reported in which the effects of transferred mass and resistive/assistive forces were investigated for ballistic and visually-controlled movements. The first experiment involved the transfer of mass in the horizontal plane so that only inertial forces were present. This was followed by experiments in which movements were made with a purely resistive or assistive force, without the presence of increased inercia
