Sumario: It here reports a study of Australian sheep- shearers, who undertake sustained strenuous work in air temperatures as high as 45ºC. The main aims of the study were to determine the effects on their physiological strain, thermal comfort and productivity of their thermal environment, their personal characteristics of age, body size, fatness, and alcohol consumption the previous evening, and their behavioural response of drinking water to prevent dehydration
