The present study was conducted to evaluate the influence of certain sound parameters (loudness and frequency) on sway behaviour in an attempt to determine the mechanisms underlying the co-ordination of auditory, visual and vestibular imputs in the control of balance in healthy subjects. Knowledge of these relationships may aid in determining whether the auditory environment or the combined auditory and visual environment could be manipulated to drive postural sway behaviour
