<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Las ventajas de las energías renovables no se limitan a los grandes beneficios medioambientales, que son obvios, sino también económicos. Prueba de ello son las cuantiosas inversiones que se están realizando en nuestro país, sobre todo en el campo de la energía eólica. Al ritmo del consumo actual, las reservas mundiales de carbón pueden durar unos 200 años, y las de gas natural, uranio y petróleo, algo más de un siglo. Esta es una de las principales razones del impulso que están recibiendo las denominadas energías alternativas por parte de organismos internacionales, aunque todavía se mueven muy por debajo de sus posibilidades. En este sentido, el Congreso Mundial Solar, celebrado recientemente en Zimbawe, tenía como objetivo fomentar la energía solar en particular y las renovables en su conjunto</abstract>
