<abstract displayLabel="Summary">The Standards Australia-Standards for New Zealand Joint Technical Committee on Risk Management has identified the need to issue guidelines for the implementation of the Standards within the public sector. These guidelines, which will be based upon the Standard, are currently in preparation, and are expected to be issued in draft form, for public comment, in the first half of 1998. Once approved, they will provide a framework for public sector risk management, and a reference point for elected representatives, appointed boards of management, chief executive officers, senior executives, line managers and staff, in the establishment of risk management programmes which are appropriate to their own particular organisations or agencies</abstract>
