<abstract displayLabel="Summary">El objeto del presente artículo es poner en evidencia la relación que existe entre el tiempo de trabajo y la organización del trabajo en Europa. Esta relación debe entenderse desde distintas perspectivas, es decir desde la posición de la empresa y desde la de los trabajadores. De hecho, si cada vez es más esencial para las empresas adaptar rápidamente el tiempo de trabajo al mercado y rentabilizar al máximo las instalaciones costosas, también hay que tener en cuenta las reivindicaciones de los trabajadores en cuanto a la duración del tiempo de trabajo. En este campo las cosas han evolucionado considerablemente, debido al creciente número de mujeres que ocupan una actividad asalariada, pero debido también al nuevo interés suscitado por la formación profesional complementaria y a una mayor flexibilidad en el acceso o la salida de la vida activa</abstract>
