This has given rise to a degree of pluralism which has benefitted the pursuit of knowledge. On the one hand, there is the traditional study of insurance management with both feet on the ground of the realities of the insurance industry; while on the other there is a highly abstract theory of insurance, one might say with both feet "up in the air".
