Sumario: Risk managers have become aware that in domocratic countries perceptions of technology's risks and benefits are important components of the entire political decision process. This study goes through two issues concerning the public's acceptance of technology related to risk and benefit perception: the functional relationship between risk perceptions and benefit perceptions, and the posibility that both risk and benefit perceptions are affected by judgements of trust of those in charge of managing the technology
