<abstract>During the past year, the world changed for many Americans as the economy slumped and the nation reeled from the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Have these shocks to our nation's economy impacted the safety and health job market? Not surprinsingly, recruiters reported  a drastic dip in available jobs immediately following the Sept. 11 tragedy and leading into the holiday season. Yet many industry insiders state the catastrophe did not cause a decrease in hiring. And employment experts concede the safety and health employment market is showing increasing strength. They predict additional opportunities in occupational safety and health as summer approaches</abstract>
