<abstract>La directiva sobre conglomerados financieros es una pieza regulatoria de indudable importancia. Sin embargo,  con frecuencia se hacen interpretaciones exageradas sobre su alcance. De hecho, en España existe una normativa similar desde 1996, por lo que el impacto de la directiva será escaso.</abstract>
