Notas: The purpose of this article is to examine and critique the Asbestos Case as a model for how World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute-resolution panels obtain impartial scientific imput for their decision processes, particulary concerning health risk. As globalization increases and multinational trade becomes more important to national economics, so does the importance of the WTO as a mechanism for adjudicating trade disputes among its members.
