This paper has responded to gaps in extant literature on the potential for using the integration of environmental, social and economic aspects at the firm level to increase the economic benefits from environmental management. It confirms four hypotheses on the effect of the integration of environmental aspects with important managerial functions on drivers of economic performance, but also finds differences in the magnitude of the effect across drivers
