<abstract displayLabel="Summary">This is why the OECD launched a study to identify and analyse the obstacles to a wider and more consistent use of benefit estimates in environmental decision making. Case studies in six OECD countries - the Federal Repuplic of Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, the United Kingdom and the United States - were carried out by independent experts making an in-depth analysis of the actual use and non-use of benefit estimates, and of the favourable factors and obstacles thereon. This book presents these six case studies.</abstract>
