<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Actualmente es cada vez más corriente utilizar en cualquier sistema de telecomunicaciones una serie de cables diferenes. Entre ellos destaca el empleo de cables específicos de fibra óptica. Las infraestructuras necesarias para la instalación de estos cables son normalmente subterráneas y este artículo se ciñe exclusivamente a los riesgos inherentes a esas tareas.</abstract>
