<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Hexavalent chromium, Cr(VI), in stainless steel metal inert gas, MIG, welding fume may constitue a hazard to the welder. The effects of variation in welding process parameters on production of Cr(VI) are described and results indicate that ozone in the air around the are may be an oxidant involved in producing at least part of the Cr(VI) in the fume</abstract>
