Sumario: The developments in ergonomics in the socio-industrial structure of the Community were well matched with financial resources for research. Many Commission research programmes had a place for ergonomics-oriented projects, principally the Commission's Research and Development Programme in Information Technology (ESPRIT) and the European Coal and Steel Community's (ECSC) Ergonomics Action Programme. Thus over the last 20 years or so, the socio-industrial infra-structure for ergonomics has been established in the European Community
