<abstract displayLabel="Summary">The gloom has lifted for now and it looks like happy days are here again for the reinsurance fraternity in India, as the Reinsurance Expert Committee (REC), appointed by the IRDAI, has recommended that after GIC Re, insurers should be allowed to obtain the best terms simultaneously from lndian reinsurers, foreign reinsurance branches (FRBs), Lloyds India and cross-border reinsurers (CBRs) that satisfy eligibility criteria. </abstract>
