<abstract displayLabel="Summary">As highlighted in Chapter 2 of the Mercer CFA Institute Global Pension Index Report, most pension systems require or encourage the provision of financial support to older individuals from several sources including government-funded pensions, taxation support, private pensions as well as other financial resources. Yet, as illustrated below, the total pension outcomes in every system around the world provide higher retirement income for males than females.</abstract>
